Late yesterday, Monday, June 26th, 112 was alerted that there was a dead whale stranded on the shore of Marmadeiro beach. Volunteers have tied the animal to the land so that the tide does not take it away and have catalogued it as a specimen of a humpback whale, a species in danger of extinction and one of the six types of whales that can be seen in Galicia. Argentine owned station, Base Brown aka Brown Station. Friedlander is one of the scientists on board. He is studying how climate change and krill fishing affect the migratory flows of humpback whales. We are also accompanied by a team from Duke University's Marine Robotics Laboratory, which uses drones with cutting-edge technology to obtain an incredible and novel vision of the life of these mysterious creatures. Each whale has a unique tail, explains DK Bierlich, it's like his fingerprint. From the images, they can be measured, and checked if the growth pattern is adequate. For travelers on board, it is like watching a television documentary live. Photo Credit: Sergi Reboredo/ Sipa USA/ Fotoarena

Antarctica is the continent that suffers most from global warming, and krill are disappearing.Antarctica registers a record temperature of 18.3 °C. These abnormally warm temperatures cause the continent to melt by leaps and bounds. The greatest reductions in sea ice will occur in areas where most krill, a crustacean essential for the life of seals, penguins, sea lions and whales, are concentrated.Since the early 1900s, many glaciers around the world have been melting rapidly. Human activities are the cause of this phenomenon. Specifically since the industrial revolution, carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions have increased temperatures, causing temperature rises, which are much larger at the poles.
